LOL) I do not buy " matchy - matchy Furniture... unless it is only TWO of something, and I hsve to REALLY like it. 😊

I feel the practice of Feng Shui to be too stressful for me when I’m so limited with what I can do in my tiny bedroom. I live in 100 year-old, 4 square home. 93-1/2"x122", 9’ floor-ceiling. Door to window is the 93-1/2” space. only 1 window off-center facing west, door opens in to face window. Heat vent & small closet on south wall, ceiling fan smack in middle of small room. What would you suggest here???

Thank you very much. I watch your videos and I learn so much about creating a functional space. I built my own house based on an open concept. After reviewing my space I noted that my living room space is smaller than I thought. The seating is about 7 feet away from the TV. In my open concept have a L shaped kitchen and a four-seater island and in my living room I am planning to place a 3 seater a two seaator and two accent chairs aa individual seating so people can enjoy the view outside. My space is 25 feet wide and 24 feet long..is it okay to have auxh a amall living room space where the tv ia juat 5 to7 feet away fdom the sofa?

I live in a studio apartment in a subsidized senior high-rise and I want to decorate it to make it comfortable for me. I bet you don't have any suggestions for me. I live on a limited income including Social Security. I got my furniture from a nonprofit agency that gives all household items to people who are getting housed after homelessness so they have nothing to start with. I found a beautiful area rug that was getting thrown away and it fills the whole carpeted area. Luckily it has the same family of colors that the furniture has. One of the lamps I got from the agency has a gold-lined lampshade. I want to strip some of the furniture and either paint it or let the wood show. I can only buy so much at the home improvement store each month.

A few points: * I have rarely seen a _square_ bedroom on the West Coast. They are usually rectangular, usually n x n+1 or n+2. So 10 x 11 or 10 x 12, 9 x 11, 11 x 13, etc. * Thinking back to all the bedrooms in all the houses and apts I have lived in or hung out in, I think bedroom closets are _rarely_ positioned where they would be behind the open bedroom door. When they are back-to-back like you talked about, the bedroom with the door opening on the right, as you showed, would have the closet on the left. The one exception was a master bedroom I once had where the left side had a passage to an en-suite sink and toilet/bath. * I have always naturally followed some of the feng shui rules. However, I recently found I rather like being along a window (twin bed parallel to window wall, about 16" from that wall), where I can see out at an angle while my head is against the long wall. I wonder if that is OK. Also, why would the assumption be that "energy coming through the window" is "negative"? * It seemed to me that many of the examples that flashed (too quickly) on-screen while she was talking about individual elements, were actually _bad_ feng shui layouts! * I wanted to start a new drinking game: take a drink every time she says "... _plop_ it in...". (Wouldn't "place it" be a more accurate and elegant way of saying it?)

Julie, thank you for the video!!! I am number 8. I cannot figure out “facing” thing”. Is it where you put furniture items, or is it where you look, where your face is? If I want to eat in my lucky area, do I put my chair in the west area of a table - but then I will look into east direction.

I love to change colours so often. Better for me to paint everything off white that way I Can change all the accessories instead!!

I’m desperate to find a solution for my living room. We live in a major urban area,on a busy street, on the second floor. I’ve had blinds and leave the top half open because I absolutely need the privacy of the bottom half on the window but really need the natural sunlight from the top half because we don’t go out everyday! My kids have destroyed the blinds though and I need something more durable, maybe less maintenance? Any ideas? W thought about window film but have read it doesn’t work at night, I cannot take that chance of the drapes being pulled open at night and a clear look into my home

Ok, I was chuckling. Cleaning walls seems to be a potential issue. That seems to be kids and pets issue only. Adults only don't generally do anything to their walls that would require they me wiped down. Yes, you have extremely organized and very useful videos. I like your matte or eggshell finish suggestion for large rooms.

Your videos on Feng Shui are so extremely helpful Julie. I have just recently downsized from a double storey with a huge garden to a TINY granny cottage, which is all the rooms are in one straight row, the doors to each room are on the same side. I believe this must have been storage rooms in the past (it is on a farm). To apply Feng Shui in each room is very hard so I am super grateful for your last comment... "don't take it too seriously" 🥰 (I have to downsize a lot more but I am so not getting rid of my favourite couch, just yet 😐 At this stage I am tossing up whether the back door is my front door or vice versa ...couch fits if I use the "back door" as my front door 😂

Jk😊❤🎉 You nailed it..but artificial Vitamins not reqd if you eat right You right entryway..kitchen...most important..seeing your kids gv joy..but they helping in chores adding to my joy..this way not only they help you keep home clean...they also dont mess up or tidy as soon as they do..vow😊 Mom's unwritten rule: if you spill something you clean..whoever it be..my son too knows it..follows it..not just guilty..but making amends.. And with that other part of home also tackled... Its fun when all work together..😊❤ To keep home clean.. Don't have to be embarrassed when guests drop in.. Home always remains clean... But yes when deep cleaning...it's best guests inform..so we can postpone it..after they leave😊
